| preparation 
       Cook sugar and 2 cups water in a Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.  Stir in remaining 4 cups water, orange juice and next 3 ingredients.  Pour mixture into large plastic container and freeze until firm.  Remove from freezer 1 hour before serving.  Place in large punch bowl and break into chunks.  Add soft drink and stir until slushy.  Makes 6 quarts. |
