"LITE" DILLED ROUND STEAK
(Serves 4)


ingredients

1 lb. beef round steak, cut 3/4-inch thick
nonstick cooking spray
1 small onion
3/4 c. water
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. instant beef bouillon
1/8 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. dried dill weed
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. cold water
1 Tbsp. cornstarch

preparation

Trim fat from meat. Cut meat into 4 serving size pieces. Spray a cold large skillet with spray coating or add a little oil. Add meat and brown on medium heat. While meat is browning, thinly slice onion. Carefully add water, onion, lemon juice, bouillon, garlic salt, dill weed and pepper to skillet. Bring to boiling, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour until meat is tender.

Meanwhile, stir together cold water and cornstarch. To serve, transfer meat to platter. Cover to keep warm. Stir cornstarch mixture into juices. Cook, stirring over medium heat, until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Serve with meat. May double sauce recipe to use over rice.
