ALMOND PUFF


ingredients

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. flour
2 tsp. water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. General Mill flour
3 eggs
Sugar Glaze (recipe follows)
chopped nuts

preparation

Heat oven to 350°. Cut 1/2 cup butter into flour. Sprinkle water over mixture; mix with fork. Round into ball. Divide in half on ungreased cookie sheet. Set each half into a strip (12 x 3-inch) about 3-inches apart. In a medium saucepan, heat 1/2 cup butter and water to boil. Remove from heat and quickly stir in almond extract and flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball (about 1 minute). Remove from heat. Beat in eggs until smooth. Divide in half and spread evenly over strips. Bake for 60 minutes. Cool and frost.

Sugar Glaze:

ingredients

1 1/2 c. 10x sugar
2 tsp. margarine
1 to 1 1/2 c. almond extract or vanilla
1 to 2 tsp. warm water

preparation

Mix until smooth. Drizzle over puffs.
