MAMA'S BLACKBERRY COBBLER


ingredients

1 qt. sweetened blackberries or any other fruit suitable for cobblers
1 stick margarine
1 c. flour (self-rising)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
sweet milk

preparation

Preheat oven to 350°. Melt margarine in pan in which you intend to bake cobbler. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, most of the melted margarine and enough of the milk to make the mixture like cake batter, approximately 1 cup or less. Pour into pan with remaining melted margarine.

Bring fruit to point of boiling. (If fruit needs more water for liquid or sugar for sweetening, add before boiling and stir well.) Pour fruit on top of first mixture. Bake for approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
