1 Yellow Supreme Cake Mix
1 c. water
1/2 c. oil
3 eggs
1 Tbsp. lemon verbena(optiional)
Preheat oven to 350`. Combine all ingredients, and beat for 2 minutes. Grease two 8-inch round cake pans. Pour batter into pans, and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Remove from pans and halve cake layers into 4 cakes. Spread filling between layers. Top with icing.
Filling;
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1/4 c. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
zest of 1 lemon (peel grated fine)
Mix together and reserve 1/2 c. of mixture for icing.
Icing:
1/2 c. reserved filling
1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
Mix together reserved Filling and whipped topping, and frost cake. Refrigerate over night. |
