Pear Black Raspberry Crisp  (pg. 71)

 

Ingredients

 

3 pears (cut in thin slices)

1 cup black raspberries

Pinch of salt

½ cup brown rice syrup

2 Tbsp. lemon juice

3 Tbsp. arrowroot

1 ½ cups cookie crumbs

 

Directions

 

Place all ingredients except the cookie crumbs into a saucepan.  Heat on stove until it starts to thicken.  Pour into a casserole dish.  Sprinkle the cookie crumbs evenly over the filling.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Let cool before serving. 

 

Black Raspberries: Black raspberries are so delicious and beautiful.  When you put them in a dessert they create such a beautiful deep red color.  Along with the great color, raspberries can benefit the liver and help cleanse the blood.
