INDIAN FRY BREAD

ingredients

4 c. self-rising flour
a pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. shortening
water (enough to make a dough)

preparation

Mix flour and baking powder (really good), then cut in shortening. Add water. Knead, but not too much. Let dough set for a few minutes. Pinch off enough dough to form a small ball and flatten. You can make them as small or as big as you want. Drop into hot grease. Let each side brown; doesn't take long.

Enjoy!! Goes good with honey (for palefaces), beans, soup or just anything. They can be reheated and they do keep in the freezer.
