LENTIL SOUP
2 c. lentils, rinse and pick over for stems, etc.3 qt. cold water1/2 lb. smoked ham from shank end or 1/2 lb. kielbasi1 small onion, diced1/2 c. diced celery12 thin slices garlic salt and pepper to taste
Rinse lentils. Put into cold water with all other ingredients and simmer for 2 hours until tender.
