In a heavy pan, saute chicken cubes, butter, onions and garlic until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Add sausage, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cloves and simmer on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Add chicken broth and water and bring to a boil. Stir in rice; lower heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir in shrimp and let them get hot. Pour into serving dish with cayenne pepper. Serve hot! |
