2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. margarine or butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 to 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
chopped nuts (optional)


Preheat oven to 350°. Spray 9 x 13-inch baking pan with vegetable cooking spray. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Add flour mixture and mix well. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts. Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares of desired size.
