1/2 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. dates
1 c. chopped walnuts
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 c. milk
1/2 c. maple syrup


Cover apricots with hot boiling water 15 minutes and drain. Mix fruit and nuts. Sift dry ingredients. Add brown sugar and blend well. Add egg and milk, then syrup. Stir all well. Put into 2 well-greased loaf pans. Let stand 15 to 20 minutes. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
