In medium bowl with fork, stir flour with salt. With pastry blender or 2 knives used scissor-fashion, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle cold water into flour mixture, a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with fork after each addition, until pastry is just moist enough to hold together. Press to bottom and side of 9-inch pie plate. Flute edge; cover with plastic wrap. |
