preparation
In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and salt. Set aside. In a big bowl, toss together chopped apples and egg substitute. Stir in sugar, 1/4 cup nuts and applesauce. Add flour mixture and stir just enough to mix it. Pour batter into a 9-inch round baking pan. For topping, stir together brown sugar, rest of the flours and the cinnamon. Cut in oleo until crumbly and stir in 1/4 cup nuts. Sprinkle over the batter and bake in a 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick stuck in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan 10 minutes. Serve warm. Serves 10. |
