2 c. sugar
2 c. applesauce
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. allspice (optional)
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
2 1/2 c. flour

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into well-greased tube pan. Bake 1 hour in 350° oven.

No need for icing but a little plain powdered sugar icing can be used.
