Oven Barbecued Brisket

Ingredients:

5-6 lb. Beef brisket

1 tsp garlic salt

2 tsp celery seed

2 Tbsp liquid smoke

1 tsp onion salt

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

 

Directions:

Place brisket in a heavy plastic bag.  Mix remaining ingredients and brush on both sides of brisket.  Close bag tightly and marinate overnight in refrigerator.  Remove from bag and place on a large piece of heavy foil to completely wrap brisket.  Add 1 12/ tsp salt and 2 tsp pepper to fat side of meat. Wrap and seal tightly and place in shallow pan, fat side up.  Bake at 300 degrees for 4 hours.  Open foil, pour off drippings.  Add 1 cup of barbecue sauce.  Brushing it on both sides.  Cook, uncovered, fat side up for 1 hour longer at 300 degrees.  Cool and slice across the grain.
