BROILED CRAB MELTAWAYS
It takes just 10 minutes to make these 48 hot
canapes that melt in your mouth.
Keeping a supply in your freezer takes little space, and you’re always
ready for unexpected guests. They also
are excellent to serve with soup or a salad for a luncheon. I promise they’ll be the talk of the
evening.
Ingredients:
1 pkg. 5 English
muffins
˝ lb. Crabmeat or (7
oz.) can
1 stick margarine
1 (7 oz.) jar Old
English Sharp Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
˝ tsp. Seasoned salt
˝ tsp. Garlic salt
Use 1 package of 6 English muffins. Slice in half and cut each half into fourths
and arrange on two cookie trays. Put
the remaining ingredients in the small bowl of our mixer. Mix all this well. I use my mixer. Spread on
English Muffins quarters. Now, here’s
the secret – the most important step.
You must freeze them at least 30 minutes. They may be kept frozen for weeks. When party time arrives, broil them until they puff up and are
bubbly and slightly golden brown. They
just take a few minutes. Serve hot and
just listen to everyone carry on.
P.S. Watch them in
the freezer. Someone at my house keeps
stealing a few.
