Chocolate Filled Oatmeal Bars

 

1 C. white sugar

1 C. brown sugar

1 C. margarine

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

1 C. nuts (of choice)

2 C. flour

1 tsp. soda

3 C. quick cook oatmeal

 

Filling:

1 C. margarine

6 oz. chocolate chips

1 (14oz) Eagle Brand Milk

 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream sugars and margarine.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Beat well.  Mix flour, soda and oatmeal.  Add to cream mixture and mix well.  Spread ¾ mixture in 9 x 13 inch pan (ungreased).

Filling:  Melt chocolate chips and margarine over low heat.  Add Eagle Brand milk and beat until smooth and creamy.  Spread on dough.  Put reserved ¼ dough over chocolate filling.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.  Do not over bake.
