Crisco Pound Cake

 

1 c. butter

1 c. milk

½ c. Crisco

¼ tsp. baking powder

3 c. sugar

½ tsp. salt

3 c. flour

1 tsp. vanilla

5 eggs

1 tsp. almond flavoring

 

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar – add eggs, one at a time, mixing well – add flavorings – combine flour, salt, and baking powder – add alternately with the milk to the sugar mixture.  Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.  Place in a cold over to start – turn oven on to 300 degrees for 30 minutes – turn up to 350 degrees and continue cooking for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
