Nightlight also sponsors several programs to help the children left behind in Russia and China by providing material aid to orphanages, educational programs, and sponsoring cultural events. We count each child as a blessing as all have left a special mark on our hearts and our agency.
To celebrate the joys of spending time together as a family we have put together Handprints & Hugs; a collection of 600 recipes gathered from our friends and families across the United States. These recipes include family favorites, International delights, everyday and gourmet specialties, and fun recipes for kids! 1 box German Chocolate cake mix
¾ c. soft butter
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk, separated
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
1 c. chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
Mix cake mix, butter, walnuts (optional), half can (1/3 cup) of evaporated milk. Put half of the mixture in a greased 9x13 pan. Bake for 5 minutes at 350o. Melt caramels with other half can (1/3 cup) of evaporated milk in saucepan. Shake chocolate chips over baked mixture. Pour caramel mixture over the chocolate chips. Spread the remaining cake mix on top as smoothly as possible and bake for 20 minutes at 350o . Cool and cut into squares.
