 | Item ID: | 06167 | | Abstract: | 'CAMPERS DELIGHT' In 1975 a small group of parents of "special children" had a vision.
They wanted their children to have the same experience as all children desire. The parents along with a physical therapy aide organized and planned a five day and four night summer camp, specifically designed for the physically handicapped. Activities, recreation and crafts are all designed to meet the handicaps of each camper. In July of 2005 we celebrated our 30th camp. CAMP COURAGE is financed by donations of various organizations, friends and fundraisers like our "CAMPERS DELIGHT" cookbook. We hope you will purchase our 152 page cookbook filled with receipes from our campers, camp staff and board members, so you can feel the "pride" in helping our small group keep our camp going for years to come. We only charge a $30.00 fee, but no child is ever turned away for lack of payment. Our reward is watching a child's eyes when he is riding a horse, playing wheel chair baseball, swimming and the many other activies we provide. On Friday night after a big potluck with family and friends and an award ceremony, we see many tears and hugs not wanting our week to be over, but we encourage them to look forward to next year. 1 small pkg. spaghetti
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1-2 lbs hamburger
2 pkg. corn muffin mix
Cook spaghetti according to directions and drain. Brown hamburger and drain. Add spaghetti sauce to hamburger. Add meat mixture to cooked spaghetti. Put spaghetti mixture into a 9x13x2 inch baking dish. Mix corn muffin mix accoording to pkg. directions. Top the spaghetti mixture with the corm muffin mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Makes 9-12 servings. Cur into squares and use a spatula or pie server to take servings out of pan.
