My initial reason for compiling this book was for my children to always have a connection to the family they were raised in as they grew up and began families of their own.
Most of my children's growing up years were spent on our small ranch. While we enjoyed the country lifestyle, we also learned to sacrifice, work hard, work with each other and live simple. Among other things, this meant eating at home with inexpensive but delicious meals instead of eating out. Many hours were spent together cooking, baking and eating healthy meals. We have many memories of this time together -- it is, basically, our heritage. Many times when enjoying a "BullHead Ranch recipe" together, many past memories are recalled of an earlier time enjoying that same recipe.
The second reason for the writing of this book was our desire to help others enjoy the closeness and happiness we have had in our family. Meal time can be a "making memories" time for every family. Times have changed, not everyone can stay home and bake all day BUT we do all have to eat and any meal can be a special time of spending time with loved ones and building memories and reminiscing together.
We hope or "BullHead Ranch Recipes" helps you to start making family memories of your own and meal traditions that carry on through the years.

12 oz. bag baby carrots
1 onion, cut in fourths
2 containers fresh mushrooms
1 pkg. Au Jus mix
1/2 c. water
Roast
8 Deli buns, toasted
Place crock pot liner, if desired, in crock pot. Add carrots, onions and 1 container mushrooms. Sprinkle with 1/2 pkg. Au Jus mix. Add water. Place roast on top of vegetables. Place 1 container mushrooms on roast. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 pkg. Au Jus mix. Cook on high 5-6 hours or low 8-10 hours. Remove roast and slice on platter. Place meat on buns. Ladle meat and vegetable juices into small bowls for dipping sandwiches. Serve with remaining vegetables.
