A real keepsake. | Contact Information: | Janice Kuntzman/ 309 S 2200 Rd/ White City, Ks 66872/ tele 785-349-2656 | Price: | $10.00 | Recipe Sample: | Tres Leche Cake with Strawberries 3/4 c butter, softened 1 1/2 c sugar divided 1 1/2 teas vanilla divided 5 eggs 1 1/2 c flour 1 1/2 teasp baking powder 1 teasp cream of tartar 1 c half and half 1 can evaporated milk 1 cam sweetened condensed milk 2 c heavy cream Garnish; strawberries sweetened w/ lemon verbena syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13x9 baking dish. Combine butter and 1 c sugar in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Add 1 teasp vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time. Combine flour, baking powder and cream of tartar. Add to butter mixture sloly and beat well. Spread batter in pan. Bake 25-30 min, until tooth pick come out clean. Set aside to cool. Stir together half and half, evaporated milk and condensed milk. Pour milk mixture over cake. Refrigerate cake. Combine heavy cream, remaining 1/2 c sugar, and remaining 1/2teasp of vanilla. Beat until thick and spread over cake. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cake is best if made the day before serving. Frost with whipped cream topping up to 4 hours before serving and keep chilled. Cut chilled cake into squares and place pm dessert plates. Garnish with a spoon of the fresh berries with lemon verbena syrup. This is a very moist cake, is cross between custard and cake |
