1 onion - minced 2 Tbsp. butter 2 Tbsp. vinegar 2 Tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 large can tomato sauce 1/4 c. sweet relish 1 c. beef stock or water 1 c. celery - diced 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce 1 lb. ham - chipped
Fry onion in butter - add other ingredients in order named. Cover and simmer 45 minutes, adding a little water if necessary. Add 1 pound chipped ham. Cook 1 more hour or so on simmer. Can cook less or more time, depending on the thickness you like. Stir often. Serve on any type of bun that you like. Serves 8. Submitted by: Ruth Newbould |
